The American Muscle Car era is one of the most exciting times in automobile history, and one of its legends is making a prolific comeback. Like a heavyweight pugilist escaping the banality of retirement, the Challenger SRT/8 is looking to reclaim the championship belt.
Muscles galore, the Challenger takes the retro-modern design to its theoretical limit. Just a bit more 70s glam and the Challenger would have overshot its mark. Thankfully, the Dodge design team knew when to stop and the result is a gorgeous, corner to corner head-turner. This car got the most slack-jawed stares from this year’s group of Auto Style winners.
And the Challenger isn’t just a pretty (re: mean) face. The SRT/8 model easily backs up the bravado with a 425 horses and a 6-speed manual transmission. Coupled with creature comforts such as two-tone performance bucket seats and 13-speaker KICKER sound system, the Challenger could easily be a daily driver. A very loud daily-driver.
