When it comes to buying truly great clothes, Savile Row and bespoke tailoring
quickly come to mind, but when it comes to purchasing a luxury bed, something
that can last nearly a lifetime, the notion of custom craftsmanship that
can provide quality sleep night after night, doesn’t as readily jump
to mind.
Savoir Beds was established in 1905 in order to outfit
The Savoy Hotel of London, the preeminent hotel of the day, with a superior bed
that would match its legendary standards of excellence and would be fitting of
its royal and celebrity clientele, from King Hassan of Morocco to Marilyn Monroe.
The Savoy Bed, or the Savoir N° 2 bed, continues to be handmade today in
London exactly as it was then. Requiring well over 80 hours of
workmanship, the N° 2 bed is constructed with a Grade-one pine base and finished with
a handmade mattress and topper infused with all natural hand-laid, long, loose
horse tail, cotton and lambswool.
All Savoir Beds are made-to-measure to each individual’s
specifications, including the perfect combination of size, shape, level
of support, and desired comfort. Careful attention is paid to building
and aligning the company’s
proprietary star–lashed hourglass springs, which enable them to move
independently during sleep, allowing for the ideal support and comfort
at every toss or turn.
As each Savoir Bed is bespoke, what it ultimately
looks and feels like is entirely up to you. Beginning with the fabric and
even shape of the headboard to the style and height of the legs, Savoir
tailors every detail in order create a truly custom, luxury bed.
Once an order is placed, your Savoir Bed is handmade in
London and then delivered, white glove style, to your home where it further
adjusted to ensure it meets all of your expectations.
