| By this time next year, America's city avenues
will be abuzz with the hottest automotive trend since Volkswagon reintroduced
the Beetle. Over 30 years since its last visit on our shores, the "all-new
for 2002" MINI Cooper makes a triumphant and much anticipated return. In fact, when the MINI finally arrives next March, it will be the only member of the luxury small car class. With a host of features - ranging from front, side, and head airbags to an eight-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo system - the MINI Cooper packs a surprising amount of technology into its diminutive frame. Under the hood is a 16-valve, 1.6 liter engine delivering 115 horses to either 15, 16, or 17-inch alloy rims. Wrapped around the wheels are electronically monitored ABS brakes to afford the utmost control for any driving situation. The interior design is distinctly MINI, right down to the center-mounted speedometer. However, a healthy portion of aluminum trimmings and accents clearly sets the modern-day MINI apart from its 1959 ancestor. All in all, the MINI's engineers have built a remarkably fun car to drive. The MINI Cooper's small size also makes it an especially attractive car for urbanites across the country. Consumers of all regions, ages, and classes should embrace the MINI with as much enthusiasm as the 1959 original. For more information, click here. |
